Ready For Spring!

Sadie turned six months old this past Monday and she is ready for spring!
She was not in a great mood, so she wouldn't smile for the picture.
First, she needs to get her rest so she can be ready for spring...
Let's see what's going on out there...
She'll be nice and happy after a good nap!
It will start out a little chilly, so she has her poncho from Grandma to keep her warm.
Then she might need to put her hat on if it's raining.
And if it's sunny, she has her sunglasses all set.
We'll want to make sure we have plenty of clean clothes so we can play all day!
And lots of diapers too...
She's testing out Dad's motorcycle to make sure it's ready for spring too.
Ahhhh, we can't wait until the weather warms up!

Five Months Old

Sadie was five months old on Monday!

She was approximately 15.5 pounds and almost 27 inches.  That's approximate because we used the "weigh Mommy alone and then weigh Mommy holding the baby to see the difference" method, and the "lay the baby on her checkered rug and see how many blocks long she is" method.  We have started her on rice cereal, just once a day for now.  She'll take a few bites, but gets frustrated quickly.  Her first attempt was pretty messy...
We tried it in the high chair too, which seemed to work a little better.
She is doing a lot better on becoming mobile, too.  She still can't sit on her own without either supporting herself with her hands or toppling over, but she has gotten pretty good at lunging forward by bracing her feet on the ground while she's on her tummy.  She spins around pretty well too.

She's also just about done with her swing.  Not only because her feet are almost hanging off the end, but she's figured out how to sit herself up in it...

And yes, that's one of her Christmas outfits still.  I guess that was the only clean one-piece she had left that day.  Now that she's been reaching for stuff, she likes to hold Miller's hand.  He likes to lick her, but it irritates her skin, so we don't let him do it too much.  When she sees him coming, she shuts her eyes and smiles because she knows it tickles!  She has also recently gotten in the habit of just sitting and watching him and laughing her head off at him.  She'll just sit there and stare at him and giggle even if he's not doing anything.
Sadie got her first owie on Monday, too.  She was sitting on the floor at daycare and she toppled over and hit her head on the linoleum.  She had a little bump, and then it bruised up yesterday.  It's pretty small, and more yellow than blue.  She's a pretty tough girl, so it didn't seem to bother her too much.  She was probably just more scared than anything else.

New Stuff

Sadie is 4 1/2 months and is learning so many new things! She has been trying really hard to sit up on her own, and today she was able to sit holding herself up with her arms. If she takes her hands off the ground she tips over, but she's getting closer! She has also started to suck on her bottom lip which causes her to make very silly faces! She's starting to respond to her name a little bit, but I think she's still really just responding to our voices. She's always very interested in the camera, so we can usually get her to look right at it when we take her picture.
She has really cut down on her naps... we can usually only get her down for about 30-45 minutes only about 3 times a day. She sleeps best in her swing, but sometimes falls asleep in funny positions...
I moved her hand out of her mouth only to have it end up in her ear.She and Miller are starting to be better friends. He does really well with her. Sometimes I have to remind him to Stay, but he keeps a close eye on her and makes sure she's doing OK.Here's her 4 month picture.
Some of her new things... a backpack from Great-grandma for Christmas. Her bouncy chair that lights up and plays music. She is also reaching and grabbing for things now so she can make it go all on her own. She still doesn't really bounce, but she likes playing with the toys on it.
Her first pair of shoes! Pink Chuck Taylors from Dad. She did NOT enjoy them. They are way too big on her now, so hopefully they will work a little better when she actually starts standing and walking.

Christmas Finally

Christmas Day we spent up at Frank's. We went to my mom's on Saturday the 2nd and spent the day with Mom, Stefanie, Grandma, and Sarah. On Sunday the 3rd, Dad and Stefanie came to our house. It worked out that Dominic and Kyle were able to join us for all 3 Christmases. We had a great holiday, and of course the best part was having Sadie with us for her very first Christmas.

Three Months Old

Sadie turned 3 months old last week Tuesday. I can't believe how much she is growing! She is really starting to become a little person with her own unique personality.

She loves taking baths. I think she just likes being naked in general, but the bathtub is the only place she gets to be naked for very long.
Apparently if you don't use the flash in our bathroom, your baby looks like an Oompa Loompa!
I love all her expressions. I don't even remember what she was looking at that was so fascinating, it was just such a cute picture.
Everybody is getting ready for Christmas, even Miller!

Here's the view from our patio door onto the deck the morning of the blizzard. Yes, this was taken BEFORE it continued to dump 16 inches that day.
This is from Sadie's first parade. There was a Christmas parade going by only a short block away from our house, so we bundled up and walked down. She slept through the whole thing, so we just waited until the Big Cart went by and then we went home.
Sadie is really starting to work on sitting. Apparently Dad thinks that riding Miller will help with that!

She's starting to hold herself up pretty well in her Bumbo. At first she could hold her head up, but her body would slouch to the side. She really likes this Santa Claus, too. He's fiber optic so the lights change color.
She can sit pretty well in her Boppy, but usually doesn't really care for it.

Apparently she feels like learning how to crawl already too. Here she's leaning on the foot rest of the couch. She was able to notch her feet in the fold of the cushion, and almost launched herself off the end! Dad was watching her closely though. She's just so cute because she's watching the Packer game here... she really likes watching the TV. I think the 65 inches of light and motion make it pretty eye-catching!
