Halloween and Great-Grandma's Birthday Weekend

Here's my little sweet pea in her peapod!

I had to work on Halloween, but Dad was on vacation, so he brought her down to my store for her very first Boo Fest!

Miller was a banana, but he didn't get to go anywhere. We just dressed him up for fun.
Barb and Brad, Renee and Jocelyn, and George and Peggy all came to Neenah for Grandma's birthday. This is the monkey that Barb made for Sadie.
Sadie must be able to tell Renee is a mommy too, she fell right asleep on her!

We finally got our four-generation pictures!

One Month Old

I can't even believe it's already been one month! Sadie turned one month this past Thursday, the same day Dominic turned 16! This picture didn't turn out great. That's supposed to be a tiara on her head since she is a princess, but it doesn't really look like one. She also wasn't thrilled about it, so she's kind of half asleep still. Here's our four-generation picture from my dad's side. We still have to get one with mom and grandma. I was hoping to do that when everyone comes to visit from Minnesota in a few weeks. Maybe we can get both sets of daughters/granddaughters/great-grand-daughters together since Barb, Renee, and Jocelyn will all be there too.

Again, I don't know why this came out sideways. But Miller is pretty comfortable with her now. Still not sure what she is, but doesn't mind snuggling right up with her.
Isn't she cute?!
This was my birthday (the 12th). Thankfully none of it stuck!
She loves snuggling. She will fall asleep on our chests before anywhere else. This is how I usually have to let her fall asleep at night, and then attempt to lay her down without waking her.

Both my babies...
This is in her play pen. Play yard? Pack n' play? I don't know, it's still a play pen to me. She likes to just chill in there, but she doesn't sleep in it. It's next to our front window, and she seems to like the brightness outside.

Another preferred sleeping position is on her side. And she loves her boppy! I found her this morning in her crib on her side like this too. Too bad you have to put them to sleep on their backs - the only position that she doesn't seem to like.
She's become more fussy in the past few weeks. I don't think it's that bad, but Kevin says she's way worse than his boys were. The doctor gave us some samples of a different formula to try, so we'll see if that helps. At least even if it doesn't get better, it should only last a couple months. She's been spitting up quite a bit too, which makes it really hard for her to get to sleep at night. So now we've elevated her crib mattress so gravity can help keep her formula in her tummy. Last night was the first night we tried it. I laid her down on the raised side the last time we got up during the night, and this morning she had squirmed all the way down to the other side. I guess she just likes to do her own thing! I'm just really hoping for a somewhat routine sleep schedule by next week when I go back to work. I don't mind getting up with her in the night as long as I know she'll fall back to sleep right away.

3 weeks old

9 lb, 7.5 oz today. I don't know why some of these appear sideways when they're the right direction in my computer...
Miller is starting to get more comfortable with her.

Some of her many expressions...

This is my favorite face. Her chin narrows when she yawns so she looks like a little alien baby.

2 weeks old

My baby girl is 2 weeks old today! We had a check up and she was 8 lb 12.5 oz and still 21 inches. She sleeps a lot still... looks like everyone does except me!

Mr. Monkey is almost as big as her!
Here's one with her eyes open.

Introducing Sadie Constance

Here she is!!!!!
Sadie Constance
9/15/09 8:28 am
8 lb, 10 oz, 21 in

Proud papa

She is already so expressive, she rolls her eyes and scrunches her nose at us too!

Miller did fairly well, but he still isn't sure about her. I think he'll be fine once he gets used to her. He was very interested and smelled her a lot, but didn't like it when she moved or made noise.

This is the second outfit she was in since we got home... while changing her first diaper at home, she peed all over her first outfit. I guess she wanted to make her first diaper change memorable!

We saw the doctor at about 2:00 on Monday. Nothing exciting happening yet, but 4 days past due, so we made an appointment to come back at 6 am the next morning and get induced. That must have scared her, because I started having contractions almost immediately after I got home, and then shortly after my water broke. We were back at the hospital at 5:30 and my contractions were already 2-3 minutes apart. I was hopeful that would mean a quick labor, but my dilating wasn't cooperating. I ended up getting the epidural once I realized we would be at it for a while. 15 1/2 hours later, it was time to get this little one into the world, but she still wasn't ready. She was parked facing my left instead of face down. 2 more hours later, the doctor finally came in and helped her out with the vacuum, and then it was only a few minutes later and she was here! I am still amazed that only 3 days ago, she was inside me, and that big! I did not look like I was carrying an 8 1/2 pound baby. She must have been packed in there really tight!

38 weeks and counting

We're counting down days now... 9 days til our due date! This picture is from last week at 38 weeks. My belly doesn't seem to grow much anymore, but she's still growing, so I'm just getting more uncomfortable as she's running out of room! My last day of work was last week Wednesday, so it has been really nice to have some time off before her actual arrival. We had a dr. appt. today, and it sounds like it'll be at least another week. So, while impatiently waiting, I'm getting organized, running errands, and hope to get some cleaning done, although the "nesting instinct" hasn't kicked in yet. (I sure hope it does, because I have NO motivation to clean.)

Since I don't have any human baby pictures yet, here's a few cute ones of my first baby-

Kevin's got his rally cap on... Cubs must have been losing. I wonder if he had frosting on his face or something! :)

35 weeks

Well, here we are at 35 weeks, only 5 more to go!
We had baby class at the hospital this week. We got to take a tour and see the delivery rooms. There's a whirlpool tub in the bathroom! I don't even have that at home!
